The final settlement is a crucial part of project management in construction engineering, serving as the ultimate link for construction enterprises to lock in project benefits. The final settlement is often directly related to the final settlement amount and payment of project funds by construction enterprises. However, in actual work, many construction enterprises do not place enough emphasis on the final settlement process, leading to significant reductions during the final settlement, which severely undermines construction efficiency. This paper analyzes the reasons for reduction in final settlements from the perspective of construction enterprises, combining industry trends and actual conditions of construction projects, focusing on how to reduce final settlement reductions. It studies and proposes practical countermeasures to strengthen process refinement control in construction enterprises, reduce the risk of final settlement reductions, and enhance the effectiveness of final settlements.
